Today everyone wants to learn English as this is considered to be the second-largest most spoken language in the world. English language can sometimes be confusing even for people who learned it as their first language. It’s because of the countless exceptions it contains which is challenging for people.

In this article, we will share the difficulties of learning English as a second language. Learning a new language is indeed one of the difficult tasks your brain can do. You have to reprogram your brain in order to learn two different languages. Therefore, you would require a strong determination and focus when you are going to learn English which is considered to be one of the toughest languages in the world.

Here are the 4 biggest challenges English students face:

  • Unfortunate English jargon

Vocabulary is indeed one of the most integral parts of learning any language, and this is the same with English as well. If it is English or any other language, it does not matter. Any language may possibly have hundreds and thousands of words and it is impossible for any person to know or learn all of them at a given time. Even native speakers are failed to know words of their mother tongue. You definitely don’t need to learn every single one of them. You initially need to focus only on words that are used in general discussion and abstain from using fancy and isolated words that are not used in daily life. If you learn some fancy and isolated words that people may not understand when you communicate with them. If you do then they will start avoiding you.

If you want to become a good speaker like a native speaker, then you need to add new words to your English dictionary. This is also a critical issue that you have to memorize those words so that you can use them appropriately in conversation.

  • Feeling of Embarrassment

When you learn a new language, you might be having some feeling or I should say fear of ember resent. This is something that comes with every single language you learn. Specifically, when you are around people, you might develop a fear of speaking in English as you don’t want to be a laughing stock. This is actually an obstacle that every English learner experiences. They try to avoid the situation where they have to face people for addressing in English. They don’t have to express themselves in English as they have fear of being misunderstood or perhaps laughing stock. This is why they never try to work where they are short and remain weak in English speaking.

  • Pronunciation

In English words are spelled differently from the way they’re spoken, unlike phonetics. Hence, there is a number of many facts that can instantiate the words that are spelled exactly the same may be spoken completely differently (for example, “I’ll read the magazine” vs “I read the magazine”). Understanding these words is crucial in order to understand both written and spoken English.

  • Idioms and slang

Slangs are rapidly used in a day-to-day life. This is one of the areas that tend to be problematic for English learners. It doesn’t have to be grammatically correct, and may even sound nonsensical if you don’t know the context it’s spoken in.

If you want to be highly well-versed in using slang and colloquialisms, then you need to get in touch with the native speakers. This is the only way that can serve the purpose. Being a casual language in a day-to-day conversation, this is one specific area that happens to be challenging to learn. You can possibly take advantage of pop culture and the latest trends like famous TV shows and radio shows to learn the casual language you need to carry on day-to-day conversations.

You may find many English speaking classes in Mumbai India where they can train you in slang. They may have trainers who can give you training in a personalized way. Many institutions have native English speakers as their trainers who can really help you a lot.
