Reasons to master the Sanskrit Language
1. For better understanding of Indian culture
To really get into the roots of Indian culture, we need to understand and know the language that protects it. All the wisdom of vedas, up-vedas, six philosophic systems, the puranas, the itihaasas (epics), is all contained in Sanskrit. All the ancient texts on law, art, music, dance, literature, medicine, architecture, martial arts, agriculture, political science, astronomy, astrology, mathematics, ayurveda and most importantly, sankalpa shakti vidya, the knowledge of thought power, and above all, the knowledge of the Self is all contained in this beautiful language.
2. Sanskrit is as modern as any other language
As we enter the 21st century, Sanskrit is spoken by an increasing number of people and many of them are young. It continues to act as a bridge across different states where people use it to exchange scholarly and even general information relating to the traditions of the country. The grammar of Sanskrit is considered to be the most logical one and it has attracted scholars world over. Being very precise and remains well defined even today. Several modern scientists have expressed the opinion that Sanskrit is the best language for use with computers. NASA has already shown its interest in using it as the language for modern computers.
3. With a language, comes culture
If one wants to understand a society one is living in, it is by speaking and understanding their language. Of course, the Dutch culture will differ in so many ways from your own culture and by speaking Dutch one will be more familiar with its customs and habits. How else will one differentiate between Santa Claus and Sinterklaas!
